Jim King
Tuesday, February 18, 2003
Fresh off of an amazing sweep of both houses of the Florida Legislature, the Governor’s Office, and the Cabinet, the Republicans seemed to have everything they ever dreamed of. With Tom Feeney and John McKay gone, the stage was set for a more kindler, gentler Legislature. But nooooooooooh! Revenue shortfalls, constitutional mandates, and differing philosophies on how to address these and other issues have brought about another potential bullet train wreck. President of the Florida Senate Jim King is coming to Tiger Bay on February 18 to candidly (as he always does) lay out his perspective about the 2003 legislative session. A well known “rags to riches” Jacksonville businessman who made his mark in personnel recruiting, it is unclear whether King will be looking to recruit the “empty halls of the Capital” to force his perspective. One thing is for sure, we do not want to see him turn “his last cheek toward the House” . . . or do we? Come find out at the next meeting of the Capital Tiger Bay Club on February 18 at the Silver Slipper.
